Birds in C

Conduct an orchestra of birds through a re-interpretion of Terry Riley’s “In C”.

Referencing Terry Riley's original 53 short melodic fragements, new phrases have been created with recorded bird sounds to create an unexpected cacophony of chirps, whistles, and hoots. As the conductor, you can add different birds to the orchestra and choose when advance them through the composition.

Composed in 1964, Riley's instructions dictated that the phrases be played sequentially, but each musician determined how many times they repeat each phrase before moving to the next. To get an idea of the original pice, listen below to a recording by Bang on a Can All-Stars
